Hello and welcome to the Cotford Hotel. I’m Barbara and I’ve been running our hotel and award-winning restaurant with my husband Chris since 2007. In that time we’ve done a lot of refurbishments including the rooms, restaurant, bar area and the garden too. And we’re pleased to say that all our hard work has paid off as we’ve won and retained two coveted rosettes for culinary excellence in our L’amuse-Bouche Restaurant. And we’ve been awarded four stars and an AA Merit score of 78%. But the Cotford isn’t just a hotel and restaurant, it’s our home and we like to think it’s a home away from home for our guests too.
A little bit about me
I worked in the service industry in Warwick for 25 years before moving to take over the Cotford as front of house. I used to run a successful beauty salon, which took more of a holistic approach, so I know how to look after people and make them feel good too.
I’ve always loved what I do and believe that wonderful surroundings are a big part of making people feel comfortable and giving them an experience they’ll treasure. I’ve always been a fan of interior design so have loved being able to refurbish our hotel from top to bottom. I like to think I’ve added a little sparkle, a sense of luxury and all those little extras that make people feel truly special.
Our guests come first
Taking the best care of our guests and always providing an excellent service is second nature to us. And doing this within a beautiful hotel that’s full of original features is key to our success. It’s down to me as front of house to make sure that the rest of our team understand that too, so we can make sure that we always deliver a consistently excellent service, both in the hotel and the restaurant too.
I always try to be there to greet our guests as they arrive and ensure that their arrival is embracing and warm. From the moment our guests set foot in the door we’ll do everything we can to make sure they have an extra special stay. We want our guests to relax and soak up the atmosphere while we take of everything.
